The International School Augsburg, located in Gersthofen, was founded in 2005 to offer a school for internationally mobile families in the economic area A³ / Augsburg / Munich according to international educational standards. Students from 3 to 18 years of age benefit from ISA’s comprehensive and well-balanced learning and educational program as a comprehensive school in English, which ensures the academic education of these children and leads to the internationally recognized school-leaving qualifications of the IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate = recognized, general university entrance qualification) and the IGCSE (International Certificate of Secondary Education = recognized Mittlere Reife). In addition, the school ensures the local integration of the children through intensive instruction in the national language (=German) and the preservation of the mother tongue through a variety of native language instruction.

To ensure the quality of teaching, pedagogical concept and internal school processes, ISA has achieved the following internationally renowned accreditations: 2019 and 2012 / CIS (Council of International Schools), 2010 / IB Diploma Programme, 2009 / IB PYP (Primary Years Programme), 2008 / CIE (Cambridge International Examinations Centre for the IGCSE). Awards that put the Augsburg region on a par with Berlin, Brussels or London in international educational standards. The school carries the status as a substitute school in Bavaria in grades 1-9 and as a supplementary school in grades 10-12. With 346 students and 90 staff members today, ISA stands for the diversity of cultures as a member of the Diversity Charter and is committed to intercultural understanding.

As an International School, ISA is much more than a school. It is an important economic development project for the prosperous development of the A³-Augsburg economic region in the Munich metropolitan area. ISA is a member of the Gemeinwohlinitiative Bayern, the Forum Nachhaltige Geldanlagen and, as a member of the Charta der Vielfalt, stands for the diversity of cultures and intercultural understanding.
